Joyce Grant is a children’s author, editor and freelance journalist. She is also a children’s literacy advocate.
She gives many presentations, workshops and public appearances in schools, libraries and at conferences. They are lively, engaging, interactive and memorable.

As a journalist, she wanted children to be able to access the news, and to think critically about the media. She created the popular website, Teaching Kids News, which publishes kid-friendly news and curriculum material for teachers.
Joyce also has a strong background in marketing, and co-owned a small, award-winning advertising agency.
She holds a B. A. A. in Journalism from Ryerson University and a certificate in writing from the Humber School for Writers. She is a former President of the Trent Valley Literacy Association and Vice-President of the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra. She is the Communications Chair of the Wychwood Tennis Club Executive.
